    Default Signage Issues

We are having a problem laying out the signage within our facility. We have signs that show part numbers, min & max, addresses, etc for each of our products and these are contained within a clear, vinyl shop ticket holder. The holders are then suspended from the ceiling via polycord. The problem that we are having is that our industrial fans are blowing around the signs and they are then getting tangled. Any advice on how to make the signs more resistant to the force of the fans??

    Welcome to the forum,

Can you secure the signs to any type of Racking?

Can you change the flow of air from the blowers?

We do have racking, but the product limits us from securing the signs to the racking. Our racking set-up has two shelves with product placed on both shelves as well as the floor. The signs identifying the product on the floor are fixed to the crossbeam of the first shelf. The signs identifying the product on the first shelf are fixed to the crossbeam of the second shelf. The signs identifying the product on the third shelf are suspended from the ceiling as there is nothing else to attach them to. We thought about suspending the signs from the ceiling and attaching the bottom of the signs to the top of the racks with strings, but the product is too tall for us to do this (top of the product is above the top of our uprights). Airflow from the fans is fixed and cannot be altered.

I am assuming that because you have product signage on each location, that these locations are fixed in that only that product goes into that location.

If this is the case, can you not produce self adhesive labels that can be attached to the product that is going into the top racking, this would negate the need for suspended signage?

Alternatively have two signs on the second shelf, one identifying the product with an arrow that is on the 1st shelf, and another on the second shelf with an arrow identifying the product on the third shelf, again negating the need for suspended signage.

Yes, all product locations are fixed. We cannot produce self-adhesive labels that stick to the product because the product comes and goes throughout the day. It is always stored in the same location, but we are constantly receiving fresh product which means we would need to produce a new label each time we got a new shipping container in.

We have discussed using the arrows. This will most likely be the route we ultimately choose. We like the idea of having one sign per spot (least confusing for our forklift drivers), but an arrow would work as well.
