On another thread, there are some comments about what makes a 3PL good or bad in the eyes of their customers.

In fairness, the guys who sell the contract need and have very different skills to the ones who will manage it. Would you want a Business Development Manager managing your logistics contract ! :-)

Hmm... looks like having good experience is the most desirable element. Problem is how do we measure experience? We can't use the company age, nor the size of people they have.

A great pity that 3PLs don't apply a bit of common sense. It is not hard to see which aspects would be highest in this poll!
