Please find attached a presentation and spreadsheet templates to facilitate a world class Focused Improvement Programme.

I was heavily involved with this system when employed by Procter & Gamble in its use to re-design processes and operations.

I then re-adapted this programme to my own end and put it to use at Starbucks Coffee UK to re-design their UK / EMEA Supply Chain Operations.

The resulting change was acknowledged by Starbucks as a transformation of a tired, complex and unflexible operation into a world class operation which in some part was replicated by the Parent USA corporation.

If you intend to make use of this programme, and I strongly advise that you do, review the presentation familiarise yourself with the templates and then get started.

Good recommendation SJ .
This method of problem solving and analysis method is widely used by Japanese MNC for continual improvement of cost , process efficiency and product quality .
This method will also ensure that the root cause of the problem is clearly identified and remedy.
I also feel that the improvement method /system or counter measure implemented should be included as a "Key Check Item" and should be audited at regular interval . This is especially true if system improvement is implemented after receiving customer complaint for poor services or quality .

The FI can be completed individualy but the real benefit is felt when in team participation, this way you can have many views especially helpful when drilling down to root causes on the Why-Why stage.
