My transport provider claims they are meeting their service requirements by delivering stock to stores overnight but the delivery times vary from early morning to mid afternoon and often include lunchtime when my staff can't afford to spend time checking the stock. Has anyone had any luck setting specific delivery times that the transport company consistently meets?

Examples. 1. Delivery into Grocery DC. Slot time +/- 45 mins 2. Delivery to High Street store. Delivery window +/- 90 mins. |

Yup, I'm constantly having that issue. Unless specified in your PO or contract, carriers are given a large leeway as to when they can deliver it. I have argued until I was "blue in the face" but have gotten nowhere. Then I started to specify on my PO's to call for appointment. If they show up without an appointment, I'm well within my means to turn them away. That's sent the message to the carriers...in my case that is.
