I am curious about what people believe are their major problems or 'burning issues' within the Supply Chain. We all hear a lot about the latest buzz words and trends, but waht are the real underlying issues that Supply Chain practioners are facing on a day to day basis?
To make it easier, pick three :-) Maybe we can add or delete options based on feedback? Can we Top Link? |

Costs and skills remain my biggest challenge.
With Fuel prices continuing to increase and labour markets demanding more and more pay - it is virtually impossible to find efficiencies that offset the rising costs. Unfortunately it is the end customer that wears the extra costs. This leads to skills, even if we could find the efficiencies we don't have the required skill levels to implement them effectively - so it is a cultural catch 22. Not sure the answer - but short of an injection in opex to do some serious hiring and some more opex to invest it is hard to see how you break the loop. Trying not to despair Lani |
