How do you get to be a Moderator?

If someone is interested in participating on the board as a moderator, can they? Or is it a select band? :-)

Not a select band. In order to have some moderators from the start, I asked some friends from different parts of the World to help me out.In time, we will be seeking additional moderators as the board grows. Users who have demonstrated a genuine interest in the board, a reasonable level of participation, and who have shown that they have a balanced and fair point of view, will be invited to become moderators.

I take it from your quote that you have indeed looked around the Web for another Forum discussing SCM.

I do believe that you have made the right choice by helping to build this site, I started as a regular member, but due to my continued interest and development of the site the owner asked me to take on a Moderator role which I was only too glad to.

I look forward to reading some excellent posts from yourself.

And you will be. We certainly need more moderators on the board. The key to being selected is really down to things such as:

1. Active and continual participation
2. Interesting and helpful posts
3. A genuine desire to help other board members
4. Not being overly pushy and taking an objective approach in discussions
