Default Drivers Hours

Just curious what the various regulations are around the World on the maximum hours per day a driver can actually drive a truck. Maybe we should run a poll on it. In Australia for example, given the long distances involved, driver fatigue has become a hot topic and legislation is being put in place to make company directors responsible if accidents occur because of drivers being pushed into long hours :-)

I wonder if there is a website that might list these?

Have not managed to find one yet. They are getting really hot on this in Australia now. How about other countries?

Honestly, I think this concern over drivers hours is a load of Bull. People should be allowed to work as hard as they like for as long as they like.

Countries that impose these types of restrictions are just making their industries less competitive on a global scale!

OB,

There are other ways of making the industry competitive without putting peoples lives at risk, the law was introduced to provide a Duty of Care to the individual and to the general public, too often had we heard of people hurt or killed by tired lorry drivers..

Only this week a Portuguese driver is on court accused of killing a family of 6 due to reckless driving of his lorry..
