Default Website Credit Card Payments

Sorry if this is in the wrong forum or a bt of topic.

A friend of mine has been trying to set up a commercial website to take credit card payments. He is based in Australia. What a nightmare he's had. Wanted to set it up with prices in US dollars, so he did not look like a purely Ozzie site. No way can it be done it seems. Has to be a US based company to do so.

Does anyone have experience of these types of issues? Hard if you are based in a small remote country and are trying to look 'International'.

I think the banks are getting very careful about this stuff, as well as governments. I can understand the US dollar issue, but I would have thought there was a way to have multi currency options for payment.

Are there any goods websites that provide advice on how to set up credit card payment processes? I am sure there are right ways and wrong ways of going about it!

Something like pay pal might be a better option, though I have never used it myself. Not sure if it would suit b2b use?
