Evening all
I have been tasked with drafting a letter of appreciation to a supplier for their excellent efforts during recent project developments. They are a new supplier (less than 12 months). Can anyone point me in the right direction, structure, examples etc. Whilst I consider myself a fairly skilled writer I seem to have come unstuck on this one. (Brain not in gear syndrome!! ) Thanks Mochaman |

Hi Mochaman,
Your question actually involves a lot. For stock letters you might look into this website: http://www.docstoc.com Regarding your question though, I just wanted to highlight some key points to include. First and foremost supplier praise is important when the supplier integrates themselves into the existing supply chain well. The key component however is to recognize those details that support the praise, i.e. high on-time delivery rate, low defect/error rate, efforts to improve coordination, turnover, logistics management if they have oversight in this area, low cost raw material sourcing, maintaining low manufacturing overhead costs, packaging optimization solutions etc. Of course minimizing headaches is important, but what are those key factors that you appreciate about the supplier's operations and your developing relationship? These are the foundational pieces to continue to build on as the integration furthers. Best of luck. Hope all continues to go well. Have a great rest of the week. Brad |

My suggestions would be...
(1) use specific examples of what you liked or appreciated (2) illustrate to them the value that they have delivered /created in your business (3) make sure that you request that they pass your letter on to all the people in the team. Hope it goes well. Ilan |
