Default Physc Testing

I would like to do some simle physc testing for new hires as part of the recruitment process. Basic Myers Briggs stuff. Anyone know of a company providing this on-line, with good interpretation of results? i.e. a phsycologist actually writes a brief report

I have never been a great fan of using MBTI alone for recruitment decisions as it is not a good indicator of a person's ability to do a specific job. It IS very good at indicating a person's preferences for a type of job or role, but not their skills to do the job. Consequently a person may have acquired the skills to do the job quite effectively over their working life even though their profile may not appear a good fit.

There are a lot of companies that provide this service on line - just type Myers Briggs or MBTI into a search engine and stand back! Lots of variation in price as well so you need to shop around a bit, and probably make a phone call to one in your region to do a final check.

In Australia these guys should be able topoint you in the right direction for using on-line tools for MBTI.

The other one well worth consider is DiSC (just type DISC into a search engine) it is a profiling system that I have found to be the most accurate - used it on myself and it was spot on. It's also worth considering as you can create a profile for the job and then get candidates to do their profile and you can get a report that will tell you the stretch and fit for candidates against the job role across a range of behavioural dimensions

Jake ,You 1st briefly about the job profile(job description, job nature,etc.,).The psych test which you are conducting should be match with that of the job nature.Relevancy is a must.

ex:analysing the stress level of the candidate-for the post of marketing executive(hardcore selling).

Biz Buzz. Understand that. But if you repae a brief about the job requirements, whoever is preparing the report on the candidate can interpret the test accoirdingly. ie they would fit will here becuase they are a team layer, or they would be good because they are single minded and determined (sales role) etc.

What I am after is a simple to administer test that ideally can be done on the Internet.

Do you know of anything?

Jake,

Try DiSC; it can be used to develop a profile for a role and also then to test the candidates and will provide a view of where the stretch and fit is between candidates and your ideal incumbent. I have used it this way with pretty good success; however like all these assessment tools they are not the only means of establishing the best candidate. Reference checking is the most overlooked and can often be an effective method, just got to be careful not to compromise anyone's rights in the process :-)

Just Google "disc" or go here http://www.discprofile.com/
