Default How do I become a consultant?

Guys,

I need some advice, I have applied to no avail to a few consultancy firms to become a Supply Chain consultant, most of them have turned me down quoting that I need a Hons Degree of MBA before they will even consider me.

I have been in supply chain for 15 years have a vast amount of experience in different industries, and disciplines, have a foundation degree in management.

How can I get into this profession without having to spend 3/4 years of my career tied up in learning?

Starbucks Junkie,

Making it as a consultant is not all about qualifications, but they are important. If you want to send me a CV we are currently hiring in our UK office. These are the things we look for as an example:

Min 7 years business experience at management level, probably within a single or multi-functional area.
Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
Sound business qualifications at post graduate level, such as MBA or post grad degree in a relevant business area.
Outstanding attention to detail.
Tenacity in driving quality outcomes.
Probably 2-3 years experience in a consulting or implementation role.
Exceptional computer literacy.
